Student Advisory Council on Undergraduate Education (SACUE)

Description:

The Vice Provost’s Student Advisory Council on Undergraduate Education (SACUE) provides a unique opportunity for motivated undergraduates to provide confidential advice to the Vice Provost for Teaching, Learning, Academic Planning and Facilities and other senior campus administrators on matters concerning the campus’s undergraduate academic life and student experience. SACUE members help influence decisions that directly impact the quality of undergraduate education at Cal. Detailed information is available in the charge.

Qualifications:

We are seeking undergraduates to serve a two-year term who:

  • are able and willing to make a firm commitment to attend a regularly scheduled 90 minute monthly meeting (note: consistent attendance is required for membership in the group)

  • have a deep interest in the campus academic life and a passion for improving the quality of undergraduate education at Cal;

  • are comfortable engaging in lively discussion and respectfully listening to a variety of opinions in a group setting;

  • are able to respect the confidentiality of the Council and to offer thoughtful advice on a variety of sensitive topics.

Students must be available to attend monthly meetings on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00 PM (in California Hall).

Fall 2012 Semester:  9/19, 10/17, 11/28
Spring 2013 Semester: 1/16, 2/13, 3/13, 4/10, 5/1 (end of year dinner)
