Advising Network Council

The Advising Network Council (ANC) is made up of nine members from units across campus, serving both undergraduate and graduate populations. Members serve as Liaisons for clusters of advisors grouped by functional responsibility, rather than reporting structure. The ANC was created as a result of recommendations made by the Advising Task Force, and is sponsored by Vice Provost Cathy Koshland and Vice Chancellor Gibor Basri. It is charged with promoting communication and networking amongst advisors, offering grass-roots, professional development opportunities for advisors, as well as other, ad-hoc projects.

The ANC meets once a month to develop a monthly newsletter sent out by the Liaisons, plan and implement professional development seminars, and address other requests from senior campus administrators.

For more information, please contact one of the Chair listed at the left, or contact your cluster’s Liaison.

Advising Directors Network:

The Advising Directors Network was created in response to a need for advising directors and managers on campus to connect and communicate. This group meets once a semester in a round table format to share best practices and information, promote professional development amongst advising staff, provide feedback on proposed changes to advising policies and procedures, and assist executive leadership on advising services.

For more information, please contact either Derek Van Rheenen or Eva Rivas.
